Coffee Chaff Explained
☕️Coffee Chaff is the dried skin on a coffee bean, the husk, which comes off during the roasting process.
☕️This Chaff is often a bit of a nuisance to roasters in the sense that it is a waste product, and with it being so light, it gets everywhere.
☕️Coffee chaff is incredibly rich in nitrogen and so not only enriches soil but helps fast-growing vegetables like tomatoes grow well- meaning gardeners in the know love the stuff!
☕️It also helps to ward off pesky slugs and snails- they can't stand the smell of coffee.
☕️Overall, coffee chaff is wonderful and full of nutrients! It does not affect the flavor of coffee at all.
☕️As a word of caution, it is flammable so be careful if you decide to use it for composting or gardening.
